Thuringia Bach Festival Ensemble – Luther goes Bach!

Monday 6 June 2016 19:00 - 21:00 The German Church

In the heart of German lies the beautiful Thuringia, strongly associated with Luther, the Reformation and non other than Johann Sebastian Bach. SEMF's evocative concluding concert reflects the exciting transition from early motets to Protestant chorals, as they are to be found in Bach's music as well.

Thuringia Bach Festival Ensemble combines some the finest artists of their region: the wonderfully fused vocal quintet amarcord, Erlopeas brass quartet , boy sopranos and organ player Silvius von Kessel.

Swedish Radio is broadcasting live from the concert!

The concert is given in the presence of the Minister President of Thuringia, Bodo Ramelow and is filmed by the Swedish Television.

OBS! Official opening speeches will be held from 18.45. Please, come early!

The concert is organized in cooperation with the German Embassy in Stockholm, the government of the German state of Thuringia and the Goethe-Institut Schweden.
