Elisabeth Lutteman – To Sing or not to Sing
The public theatres in Shakespeare's London resounded with voices and music. But what characters sang? What did they sing? Through examples from plays by William Shakespeare and his playwright colleagues, this talk explores song as a dramatic driving force and a dynamic moment of performance. Elisabeth Lutteman is a researcher and teacher in English literature and also holds a degree in music education.
