"A way to Christmas" is an interpretation of how we can feel Christmas today, filtred through the colours of the renaissance and baroque period's music. With a muliplicity of musical expressions in works from 1550 until 1750,  The Nordic Baroque Band creates a special atmosphere in interaction with the audience and the church acoustic.

Nordic Voices | Photo: Fredrik Arff

Nordic Voices from Norway interprets some great early music masters to sonically portray Christmas, probably the greatest mystery in human history. As a listener, you will be immersed in the sweet tones of Tomás Luis de Victoria and Guillome Dufay, for example, but also enjoy parts of Olav's music (Olavsmusikken) from the 12th century.

Tickets: 270-320 SEK

Jólatónlist means simply "Christmas music" in Icelandic language. The organist Eyþór Ingi Jónsson, coming directly and exclusively from the island, offers the audience Icelandic folk tunes, works from the Nord-German tradition, as well as festive and meditative Christmas pieces. The Early Late Night Concert is SEMF's own, and most talked about and appreciated, concert form. You lie comfortably on a mattress and listen to live music in a relaxed atmosphere.

Tickets: 180 SEK - NOT included in the SEMFestivalpass Christmas Edition.
