A) INFORMATION ABOUT ONLINE LIVE-STREAMING OF CONCERTS!

For the very first time in the history of the festival you will be able to watch and listen to SEMF-concerts live online! All six evening concerts from The German Church between September 8th and 13th will be streamed, as well as one perfomance from The Finnish Church, Saturday the 12th of September at 2.00 pm (La Terza Prattica).

HOW CAN I BUY MY LIVE STREAMING TICKET? You can buy a live streaming ticket to your favourite concert already today! Under the "Programme" tab, at right of each programme point that is topical for broadcast, you will find a blue "Live streaming" button (below the normal "Buy ticket" button). When you click on it you will be forwarded to a site where you purchase a link to the chosen concert. The price for the live streamed experience is only 5 € (around 52 SEK). You pay with your credit card. After this you will automatically receive an e-mail to the address you indicated, with a link to the live concert.

You can also buy a DIGITAL FESTIVAL PASS by clicking on the blue "Live streaming"-button TO THE RIGHT. The price for all 7 live streamed concert experiences is only 30 € (around 310 SEK).

If you miss the live broadcast, you can later (during 30 days from the event) also buy the link to the recorded concert on semf.se, by following the same procedure as described above.

B) INFORMATION BEFORE PURCHASING YOUR SEMFESTIVALPASS!

The SEMFestivalpass gives you entrance to Stockholm Early Music Festival 2020. IMPORTANT! Since the effects of the Corona pandemic are not predictable which could affect the programme content of the festival, by puchasing yoour SEMFestivalpass you approve the extent and the offer of the event in its final form, 8-13 September.   

In The German Church you can choose your own permanent seat (the same seat for all evening concerts) within the rows 5-6-7 in the A-section. NB! In SEMF's remaining concert venues seats ar not numbered. We kindly ask SEMFestivalpass owners to arrive no later than 15 minutes before the beginning of the concert!

HOW CAN I BUY MY SEMFESTIVALPASS? You purchase your SEMFestivalpass by clicking on the "Buy ticket"-button on the right side. The printed electronic ticket is then exchanged for a “physical” SEMFestival pass, directly at SEMF's ticket office, open during the festival week 8-13 September. You can also order your SEMFestivalpass by phone during SEMF's opening hours, non-holiday Tuesdays 10 am - 12 noon and Thursdays 1 pm - 3 pm. You will then receive a paying-in form sent by regular mail. After payment, you are welcome to pick up your “physical” SEMFestival pass at SEMF's ticket office. 

PRICE AND VALIDTY of the SEMFestivalpass. The price for the SEMFestivalpass is 2 190 SEK. A printed copy of the festival programme booklet is included! Please note that there is a limited amount of passes and that the SEMFestivalpass is valid for all events except the Early Late Night Concert and Early Music for Children. For the La Terza Prattica-perfomance it is valid only 12/9 at 6 pm and for Simone Vallerotonda's concert only 10/9 at 5.30 pm.

We are blocking rows and seats in order to maintain social distancing, according to the Public Health Authority in Sweden. For this reason we sell a fewer number of passes and tickets. SEMF also offers protective masks for free, at the entrance.

You can of course also buy single tickets to your favorite concert!

When royals compose and surround themselves with famous composers, the music gets a very special shimmer... Sanssouci's gates open to the world of flute where you meet Frederick the Great, Wilhelmina von Preussen, J J Quantz and J S Bach! Benedek Csalog is Hungary's most renowned soloist on traverso flute with an international career in Europe, USA, South America and Asia. Orpheus Baroque, the Royal Philharmonic's ”Baroque redeemed” ensemble with its own concert series has quickly become a recurring feature of Stockholm's music offering.

Follow a love walk through the "eternal city" of Rome's lights and fragrances, the residence of Alessandro Stradella, where mysticism, political tension and passion inspired this composer's original tone. Soprano Giulia Bolcato, baritone Marco Bussi and Roman energy charged Ensemble Mare Nostrum under the musical direction of Andrea de Carlo specializes in Stradella's opus, where they explore the relationship between language, emotion and sound.

Architecture, music, poetry, theater, society are looking at the greek model of Perfection and Beauty. This concert is dedicated to the famous painter Raffaello Sanzio and the composers of his time, in view of the 500th year's day of the Raffaello's dead in 1520. Brillant theorbo player Simone Vallerotonda has performed at concert venues all over the world, as a soloist as well as an ensemble musician.

In cooperation with the Embassy of Italy and the Istituto Italiano di Cultura.

When the child prodigy Ludwig van Beethoven, who we especially remember this year, wrote his first compositions, the baroque era had just weared off. However the spirit of J S Bach hovered over the young genius through musical heritage and directly descending teachers. Enjoy Ulrika Davidsson's magnificent performances on the fortepiano, playing works by the early Beethoven and his role models.

During the Golden Ages - the time span from the late 1400s to the early 1600s, - musicians and composers traveled between the European regions exchanging experiences, a melting pot for musical styles and expressions. Estonian Hortus Musicus, founded and lead by Andres Mustonen is a pioneer ensemble in early music contexts that has acted on the international music scene for almost 50 years. With echoes from Spain: Arañés, Narvaez, Ortiz, del Encina, de la Torre, Cancionero de Upsala, Cantigas de Sta Maria m fl.

With Orlando di Lasso´s splendid music as backbone, Die Singphoniker build a cathedral of sound setting the master´s music in context with madrigals by his peers and spice the soundspace with selected 20th century composers, like modern stained glass windows in a gothic church. The razor-sharp and catchy five-voice German vocal ensemble, Die Singphoniker, has been in existence for over a quarter of a century and published more than thirty CDs.

Belgian Ricercar Consort, under Philippe Pierlot's direction since 1985, has captivated early music lovers internationally with their deep and expressive interpretations of 18th-century cantatas and instrumental works. IMITATIO is a fascinating and entertaining revue in carnivalesque spirit, that focuses on Austrian Baroque composers. Program music? Life, nature and human pursuits, resonate with a pinch of humor in Heinrich Biber's famous "Battalia" and in works by  J. H. Schmelzer, C. Farina and H. Abel.

The mythological Sibyl predicted the downfall of the world. El canto de la Sibila (The chant of the Sibyl) is a unique and exciting example of medieval liturgical drama originated in the musical traditions of southern Europe, in this case from a monastery in Castile, Spain. Tonight’s program is supplemented with songs from the medieval collection Llibre Vermell de Monserrat. The Spanish ensemble Musica Ficta, specializing in the early Renaissance, has performed internationally for almost 30 years.

Pentamerone

A colorful festival ending! Naples 1634 - Pentamerone, the first collection of classic fairy tales and traditional stories is printed. As an art and folk musical parallel to the anthology, tonight's program reflects five centuries of magical Neapolitan melodies from court and street. The lively Austro-German-Italian ensemble Oni Wytars, who has toured the world since 1983, explores new impulsive expressions in the diverse traditions that enriched Europe's musical life between 1200 and 1700. 

In cooperation with the Austrian Embassy, the Embassy of Italy, the Goethe-Institut and the Istituto Italiano di Cultura.
